The Department of Anthropology is honored to announce that PhD student, Delancey Griffin, was selected as a recipient of the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program. James Strawn recently completed his Ph.D. in Anthropology at the University of Georgia and will join Troy University as an Assistant Professor and Archaeology Lab Manager in the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology beginning this fall. The Environmental Archaeology class (ANTH 4290/6290) took a trip to the Old Athens Cemetery located next door to the department. Here they had the opportunity to core trees for dendrochronology.
