Minor in Anthropology

anthro minor

A minor in anthropology is a useful complement to many degree programs. It can help to broaden your knowledge and skills by helping you understand another field of study from an anthropological perspective.

Students wishing to minor in anthropology must complete the following coursework.

  • Introduction to Anthropology, ANTH 1102, 1102E, or ANTH 2120H (honors intro to anthropology)

  • Four additional courses in anthropology (12 hours; three of these must be 3000-level or above.)

Courses used in areas 1-5, or in the student’s major, cannot count as credit towards a minor. General elective courses will be counted.

Students minoring in anthropology are not required to be advised in the department but are welcome to contact the Undergraduate Coordinator or Undergraduate Advisor to discuss what courses might best complement your primary degree program.
