UGA Arch
PhD Student, ICON & Anthropology

Hello! I am Gabrielle Langhorn, a PhD Candidate in the Integrative Conservation (ICON) anthropology program. I have completed my field research studying how agricultural communities in Ceará, Northeast Brazil use soils to create cultural, social, and ecological connections.

Aside from personal dissertation research, I have worked as a graduate research assistant with IRIS (previously N-EWN) on the social science team. IRIS is an interdisciplinary team of researchers, practitioners, and educators researching how to implement natural infrastructure in a way that gives tools and power to stakeholders. I also do free-lance science communication on social media with the intention of making scientific knowledge accessible to the public.
