Honors senior Natalie Moss is one of two Marshall Scholars this year, setting a record for the University of Georgia. The scholarship funds graduate study in the United Kingdom at any institution and in any field of study. Moss plans to pursue a master's degree in human osteology and funerary archaeology at the University of Sheffield, and a master's degree in biological anthropological science at the University of Cambridge. She plans to pursue a doctorate in anthropology and intends to work both as a professor at a research institution and as a consultant identifying missing persons around the globe. Currently, Moss is conducting research on teeth and bones from ancient burial sites with Dr. Suzanne Pilaar Birch, and is a tutor with Athens Prison Tutorial. Her previous undergraduate research includes research on anemia's effect on the skeleton with Dr. Susan Tanner. She has also interned with the Georgia Museum of Natural History, served as a teaching assistant in anthropology, volunteered with The Backpack Project of Athens and Camp Twin Lakes, and studied in Colorado and Spain.
