I am Gabrielle Langhorn, a 1st year PhD student in the Integrative Conservation (ICON) anthropology program. I am currently working on projects with Dr. Nelson and Dr. Mansur to analyze social contracts and the general public’s response to natural disasters. I am interested in environmental justice advocacy and ensuring that everyone has access to basic human necessities; i.e. access to nutritious food and clean water. I intend to find solutions that will help marginalized communities prosper while preserving the land for future generations.

Simultaneously, he holds the position of an External PhD Scholar at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, India. His doctoral research looks at the intersection of conservation science and social & environmental justice in Central India, with a particular focus on the complex interactions between humans and wildlife.
