Katie Foster (L) and Cydney Seigerman (R) are among the distinguished individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions by the University of Georgia Graduate School. 

Katie Foster: Excellence in Research Award- Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences

Dr. Katie Foster, who earned her Ph.D. in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology from the University of Georgia in 2023, is honored for her groundbreaking research in environmental governance, justice, and policy. Her work addresses pressing social-ecological challenges including climate change, biodiversity loss, and natural resource conflicts. Dr. Foster is currently a postdoctoral researcher with the Network for Engineering with Nature (N-EWN).

Cydney Seigerman: Engaged Scholarship Award 

Cydney Seigerman, a Ph.D. candidate in the Integrative Conservation & Anthropology program at the University of Georgia, is recognized for their exceptional contributions to engaged scholarship. Seigerman's research focuses on socio-natural processes and understanding water insecurity in Northeast Brazil. Their unique background and collaborations demonstrate a dedication to engaging diverse perspectives and fostering equitable solutions to water challenges.
